It’s so much fun to stay in touch with clients and their growing families, especially when they’re return visitors to my studio! I was thrilled to see Marta and her family again, and I was so excited to meet the newest addition to their family, sweet baby Damian.
Little Damian is a baby brother to Anya, whose session is also highlighted in the blog. You can see Anya’s session here! Notice all the great ways we’ve been able to coordinate poses and settings during their different sessions, so mom can display their photos together anywhere for a reminder of her two precious little ones during their earliest days!
In his session, you’ll see little Damian decked out in pastel blue—and mom, dad, and big sis follow suit by dressing in coordinating light blue outfits. Unlike his big sister’s photo session, which was all things pink, lace, and pearls, Damian’s session is all about celebrating everything baby BOY! With a light blue and white color palette, little Damian’s photos mirror big sister’s pink and white palette. All of their photos will blend seamlessly and make a beautiful wall of canvases for their home.
THE WHOLE FAMILY IS IN LOVE
This sweet photo shows mom, dad, and big sister looking down at a sleeping baby Damian with so much love and pride in their gazes. Held snugly and peacefully in mom’s arms, Damian is swaddled in light blue and coordinates so well with his family’s choice of outfits! Against a neutral background, this portrait is easy to mix and match with any already-existing home décor, too.
I love adorable big sis’s grin in this photo. It’s full of excitement to welcome her little brother…and also for a future filled with plenty of playtime and laughter.
GRANDMA’S PRIDE & JOY…MEMORIES FOR GENERATIONS
As we did with big sister’s photos, the family made sure to include grandma in a lovely portrait with both of her grandbabies and her daughter. It’s clear grandma is already in love with the little bundle of joy she’s holding in her arms. With photos of grandma with each of their children, this family will be blessed with many memories to pass down as time goes by.
In the sweetest gesture, Anya reaches out to touch her baby brother. Being a big sister is a BIG job, and adorable Anya is up to the task. I’m sure she’ll surround little Damian with tons of love, protectiveness…and maybe even engage him in a few sibling escapades as they grow up together!
DADDY’S LITTLE MAN
As dad smiles down on the newest little addition to the family, it’s easy to see the pride in his face. Looking at baby Damian, you can just imagine all the hopes and dreams this family is already building for their precious little man. There’ll be plenty of time for footballs, outdoorsy things, and bicycles a few years down the road. For now, dad’s strong and protective arms are the perfect place for precious Damian to snooze and grow!
SLEEPING ON A CLOUD
Unbothered by everything that’s going on around him in the studio, little Damian sleeps soundly and securely in his blue swaddle. Tucked into a nest of fluffy, cozy fur, he looks as comfortable as can be.
SIBLING SHOTS TO MELT YOUR HEART
What do you get when you combine a precious newborn baby boy and an adorably loving big sister? Photos to fall in love with! This photo makes it easy to see why sibling photos are so popular. They are a lovely way to commemorate the bond that only brothers and sisters share! Here, big sister Anya, reaches out a loving hand to care for her new baby brother. In her other hand, she holds a tiny teddy bear that, adorably, reminds everyone that she’s still little, too.
In this precious photo, all the focus is on Anya and baby Damian! With their perfectly coordinated outfits, they stand out beautifully from the pristine white backdrop. When planning for sibling photos, I love to make sure everything is coordinated, and I also use uncomplicated props and backgrounds so that everyone stands out in the portrait.
A BIG SISTER’S LOVE
There are so many great ways to pose siblings so that we get the very best and most heartwarming photos. Since big sister isn’t very old yet, I opted for the safest and most secure option, which left little Damian lying comfortably with Anya leaning in to show him lots of love. Giving him a sweet kiss, it’s easy to see how these two will end up being the best of friends!
Surrounded by soft, cozy material, this pair look as if they’re resting on a bed of clouds. With a shaggy white throw underneath them, and white accents all around, the light blue of both of their outfits really stands out in this sweet photo.

QUIET AS A MOUSE
All tucked in with a sweet mouse stuffed animal to keep him company, precious Damian is wrapped snugly in a pastel blue swaddle and sleeps soundly in a plush bed of fuzzy blankets. The brown wood of the headboard and the wide plank flooring in the background add a warm tone to this image, and as adorable Damian dreams the day away, he’s tucked in cozily with a tiny pillow, fuzzy blankets, and the perfect stuffed buddy by his side.
MY STUFFIE & ME
Props are so important to your newborn baby’s photos! They allow me to change things up and create different looks in a way that doesn’t disturb baby at all. In fact, tiny Damian slept through this portion of his session with this sweet stuffie right by his side!
Throughout a majority of his session, baby Damian remained wrapped in this pastel blue swaddle, but just look at all the different poses he’s been in and all the different props we used to change things up and add variety to his professional photo session. He’s been held by mom and grandma, posed in a tiny white basket, and he’s rested comfortably on this infant-sized baby bed prop—all without making a peep!
FINGERS, TOES & A TINY BUTTON NOSE
After changing Damian into a white half swaddle, I wanted to capture the photo every family loves to look back on…their sweet baby curled into the fetal position, just like he was not too long ago in mom’s tummy! One of the reasons I encourage clients to get newborn photos in the earliest weeks is so that we can get shots like this one.
Little Damian shows off all his fingers and toes as he curls up adorably for this portrait! To coordinate with the baby blue color scheme, I rested him on a light blue-gray fuzzy throw inside a brown wicker basket. And with an adorable little foot tucked all the way up to his cheek, Damian continues to snooze!
And clients never have to worry…the Andrea Sollenberger Studio is always warm and cozy, so it won’t upset baby when we go from full wrap to a half swaddle.
THE SWEETEST BABY SLEEP
Is there anything sweeter than a newborn that’s sound asleep and dreaming contentedly? Nope!
In a white half-swaddle, precious Damian rests with his tiny hands tucked under his chin and his little legs curled up in a ball. He’s content to let me keep working right through his nap time as I focus on getting clear photos of his tiny hands and feet. With only his baby bottom wrapped for this photo, it will be easy for his family to look back and remember all the little details of his very first days.
PRECIOUS MOMENTS WITH BABY
If someone were to ask me why professional newborn photos are a must, I would show them the picture below! Sleeping soundly on his tummy, little Damian shares a small grin and shows off soft baby skin and all those adorable baby wrinkles that will change as he grows. Soon, he’ll be toddling around and showing off big-kid skills, but for now, everyone who loves him can simply gaze at this sweet baby boy and imagine the handsome youngster he’ll grow up to be!
And just look at his combed and parted hair! Little Damian’s all ready to show off his handsome, dapper style…even as the littlest guy in the family. In this photo, he’s resting on a super-soft surface, and he’s surrounded by white feathers which add visual appeal and texture to this image.
REST NOW, LITTLE ONE
Did you know that newborns sleep anywhere from 14 to 18 hours per day? That’s because they need all that time to grow and develop! A whole lot is going on when your newborn is sleeping. Just think of a one-year-old and everything they’ve learned in twelve months. It’s like your baby is cramming for a huge test as their little brain develops! By a year old, most babies are sitting, crawling, toddling, babbling, recognizing familiar faces, and so much more—talk about exhausting! No wonder they need plenty of rest!
As adorable Damian kept right on snoozing, I captured this last shot of him lying on his tummy and resting his precious newborn cheek on his folded hands. This is the only time in their lives that their baby will be this tiny, so it’s important to catch as many special moments as possible with the camera. Years from now, his mom and dad are sure to look back and reminisce about his fuzzy baby hair, his poochy little tummy, his baby wrinkles, and the adorable way he pulls his knees up underneath him. And memories like this are so very meaningful to families as their little ones grow!
It was an honor to be able to work with this family again! I love seeing my clients’ little ones grow, and this was an opportunity not only to meet baby Damian, but also to see how much big sister Anya has changed!

It’s a lot of fun to work with a brand new baby after creating newborn photos for the older sibling. It’s important to make photos unique for each baby and still coordinate poses and compliment colors! This way, sibling baby portraits looks beautiful displayed together on the walls. Hi Brandi! Many times grandparents come into the area to be helpful after the birth of a grandchild, and what a wonderful time for newborn photos with grandma! Adding extended family members to photos can create bonus memories for more people, and these family photos also tell the family story over time. I appreciate your feedback!
