Hello, Mama! Beautiful Maternity Photo Session for Mom-to-Be

Maternity shoots are always so much fun because the excitement the family feels over their soon-to-arrive little one fills the studio. When I talked with Katelyn about her wishes and ideas for her professional photo shoot, she told me that she’d already done TONS of research on maternity photographers and newborn photographers. She spent a lot of time looking at their work and the services they offer. (She’s a research scientist, so that makes a lot of sense!)

After running across the Andrea Sollenberger Studio during her online search, she concluded that she’d found the photographer she was looking for! ELEGANTLY EXPECTING

This lovely red gown hugs Katelyn’s curves and flatters her growing tummy, showing off a perfectly round bump that signals a new arrival to their family. With her pretty curly hair and creamy skin, this color is a great choice for mom, and the off-the shoulder look with a delicate lace bodice creates a glam and gorgeous look!

A big worry for expectant moms when they schedule a maternity session is whether they’ll find the perfect gowns to wear to flatter their changing bodies. IT’S A FAMILY THING

Dad, Stephen, and their grade-school-age son also joined in to share in some of the fun…and what a fabulous and exciting time to have a family portrait taken! Mom is so pretty and looks absolutely gorgeous in the maternity gowns she chose for her session, and you can see by the smiles on their faces that dad and big brother are so very excited for the arrival of…drumroll please…a brand-new baby sister! This sweet photo shows off all the love they have for each other, and with hands on mom’s tummy, everyone expectantly waits for a new baby to arrive.

SIBLING LOVE FROM BIG BROTHER

This family’s new little one is so very lucky! Not only is she arriving to all the love and excitement of her parents, she’s also getting a sweet, protective, and loving big brother. Hugging mom’s tummy, he flashes a heart-melting smile that shows he’s eagerly awaiting his baby sister.

Dad and big brother dressed in dapper grays and blues so they’d perfectly coordinate with mom in her gowns. Katelyn is sparkling with anticipation for their baby’s arrival and love for her growing family, and the vibrant colors she chose for herself add to her happy look.

GORGEOUS & GLOWING

With a new baby girl on the way, mom chose a color palette of deep pink and burgundy. Katelyn is glowing with pregnancy beauty, and she’s absolutely stunning in the gowns she chose for her session. Her beaming smile tells us everything we need to know: The family is so excited for this little girl to arrive, and they are celebrating every minute of waiting for her feeling happy and joyful.

Maternity photos are a celebration of a family’s happiness and anticipation for a newborn, and in this blush-colored, fitted gown, mom is radiant. Form-fitting to show off her growing baby bump, this dress was a great choice to show off her changing body and the happiness that goes right along with it!

I ran across this quote by philosopher and author Matshona Dhliwayo, and it made me think of all the lovely maternity sessions I’ve had the pleasure to shoot…and of the happiness that awaits every family at the arrival of a brand-new baby:

Roses do not bloom hurriedly; for beauty, like any masterpiece, takes time to blossom.”

And just look how beautiful mom looks several months into her pregnancy. She’s stunning, and the entire family is ecstatic—it’s time for a new baby girl!

TUMMY TIME…FOR MOM!

There’s nothing sweeter than the image of a mom hugging her tummy where her brand-new baby is growing. This little one is surrounded by so much love—and everyone in the family will be able to look back at these photos and know that it was there from the very beginning.
