Handsome Bundle of Joy: Welcome, Newborn Baby Boy Caden

A newborn baby boy is a joy beyond words, and it’s easy to see the love and adoration on the faces of Caden’s mom and dad as they gaze at their firstborn in their professional studio photos. Not only is their brand-new little man a heart-stealer, he’s handsome as can be, too! I love how mom and dad dressed in white. It allows tiny Caden to be the star of the show and really stand out in his pastel blue swaddle. It’s so sweet that in this very first image we get a glimpse of this tiny little guy’s head full of hair and round little cheeks as he rests contentedly in his mom and dad’s arms.

Mom and dad were eager to capture their baby’s earliest memories in keepsake portraits so they would be sure to remember every tiny detail of his first days and weeks, and I was honored that they entrusted me with their brand-new little angel. I got to work right away ensuring every detail was thoughtfully planned to create lasting memories they would be able to share with family and friends.

ADORATION FOR BABY CADEN

This precious moment with his mom, perfectly frozen in an artistic portrait, will be a way for her to always look back and remember how tiny, precious, and sweet her brand-new little boy was when he first came home with them. As she encircles him protectively in her arms, Caden’s mom gazes at him lovingly and leans forward to place a sweet kiss on his little round cheek.

In this portrait, Caden’s eyes are open and looking all around at his surroundings, which is a rare treat in newborn photography, because often, newborns spend their entire session asleep and resting contentedly. This precious guy, however, was perfectly happy to wake up for a while and watch curiously as activity swirled quietly around him.

DAD’S LITTLE GUY…ONE OF MANY PROUD MOMENTS

Could his daddy possibly look any prouder of this tiny bundle wrapped in blue? I don’t think so! And with good reason, too. Caden is just the perfect picture of precious baby innocence and perfection, and I can promise he has all the sweet baby smells and coos to match. These two may not be tossing a ball in the yard just yet, but it won’t be long!

And when tiny Caden grows a little bigger, dad will always have these adorable images to look back on and remind him of all those super-special newborn days.

A MAMA’S IMMEASURABLE LOVE

Mom is nothing short of stunning in this glamorous portrait! (We all want to look this lovely after having a baby!) Dressed in a fitted white gown and relaxing on a textured fur throw, she lies flat and cradles Caden in the crook of her arm, right next to her cheek.

Still swaddled snugly in baby blue, this little guy has drifted off to dreamland, and is happy just to be in a warm, cozy studio and resting in his sweet mama’s arms.

I love versions of this portrait because of the serenity and beauty I’m always able to capture in mom and the cheek-to-cheek closeness I’m able to create with them both lying down. Plus, with mama and baby on a soft, plush surface, that’s just one of the many ways I ensure safety and comfort in my studio!

THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY IN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Safety is a critical aspect that cannot be overlooked when it comes to selecting a professional photographer for your newborn’s photo session. At the Andrea Sollenberger Studio, my very first consideration is always safety for my tiniest clients. My studio is packed with only the softest surfaces that are cleaned and sanitized between every session, so when you arrive, you can rest assured your baby’s well-being will always be at the heart of everything I do.

I pay attention to every little detail, from providing the softest, coziest materials and wraps to ensuring the studio is warm and cozy for baby. After all, the younger the baby, the more sensitive they are to temperature fluctuations. By keeping things nice and warm, I’m able to unwrap swaddles and freely pose babies without them getting too cold.

It’s also important to pose babies in natural, comfortable positions that are age appropriate. As you look through my client portfolio, you’ll notice many poses where newborns are posed in a curled or “froggy” position or snuggled into cozy wraps. This is because during their early days and weeks, newborns are most comfortable resting just as they were in mama’s tummy.

All of these things remained top of mind throughout sweet Caden’s session, and he was an absolute gem the entire time!

NEWBORN PERFECTION: TINY FINGERS, TINY TOES & THE CUTEST BUTTON NOSE

As baby Caden sleeps peacefully in this adorable half wrap, he shows off splayed fingers and tiny toes pulled in tight toward his tummy. He’s resting serenely, just like he’s sleeping on a puffy white cloud. The tonal neutrals in this photo not only make it lovely and artistic, but they also make it perfect for hanging in any room of the house—and for gifting to any family member or friend!

And just think…when his mom and dad hang this photo up in their home, they’ll have a moment frozen in time. They’ll always be able to think back to these very earliest days with their tiny little dreamer and remember his sweetest, dreamiest days.

ADORABLE BABY BOY, ALL TUCKED IN TIGHT

It looks like handsome little Caden is down for the count in this cute photo. Lying in an antique-style mini baby bed, he sleeps soundly as the camera keeps clicking around him. With wide plank flooring, a faux fur rug, and textured blankets I was able to change up the scene and add some rustic and masculine touches that matched the parents’ style and showed of Caden’s baby-boy vibes.

CAPTURING CADEN’S SWEETEST MOMENTS

A quick wardrobe change had us opting for a neutral green wrap and resting Caden atop a furry textured throw inside of a woven basket. Wearing a coordinating green knit cap that’s tied under his chin, he shows off perfectly chubby baby cheeks and the softest baby skin in an up-close shot that also gives us a glimpse of his perfect Cupid’s bow mouth and tiny little nose.

MEMORABLE KEEPSAKES TO LAST A LIFETIME

Most parents want to show their infant in a variety of poses and outfits, and Caden’s parents were no different. We all loved this take on the birthday suit photos that offers modesty while still showing off baby’s tiny bum, wrinkly tummy, and smooth, soft skin.

In this adorable portrait, Caden snoozes on his tummy, with his head on a tiny pillow, without a care in the world. A textured throw covers his bottom, allowing only a side view to show as his feet dangle over the side. And don’t forget about the safety aspect at the Andrea Sollenberger Studio…this tiny bed is actually right off the ground and surrounded by soft surfaces so there’s no chance of baby getting hurt or falling.

It was such a joy to work with this young family and help them create a photo collection they will enjoy for years to come. As they welcomed their first little one into the world, it was an honor to be the photographer to help them capture so many memories and firsts!
