Mini newborn photo sessions are simple, effective and economical way to get all of the magic of newborn baby photography.
This week I’m thrilled to share with you the results of a recent mini newborn session with sweet little Benjamin. This precious boy was full of personality. Mom and Dad were simply ecstatic to capture all those wonderful newborn details that can change so quickly at this stage in a little one’s development.
Benjamin’s mom was especially delighted with the selection of newborn props in the studio, along with all the gorgeous colors and textures to choose from. Just because it’s a mini session does not mean new parents need to compromise. In fact, I believe the simplified nature of a mini session has so many wonderful benefits for new families who are still finding their feet during this joyful, busy and exhausting time.
Newborn Baby Boy Photography
A mini newborn session refers to a shorter, simplified version of a newborn photography session. Mini sessions last for one hour and focus on capturing images of just the little one with wrapped posing and props.
Mini sessions like Benjamin’s include two different baby wraps, which allow us to include two color palettes in the baby photo session theme. Parents can also select two different props from a wide range available at my Gainesville, FL, photography studio. Baby photo props help add a level of variety, detail, texture and depth to the images, and they allow for a more customized experience.
Newborn Baby Bassinet Photography
Little Benjamin lit up his photos with tender smiles, pursed lips, and darling expressions. The softness and perfection of the edited newborn images truly reflect love and excitement this family shares from the very beginning.
I adore mini newborn sessions because they provide a great solution to the struggles so many new parents contend with. When time, money and scheduling availability are short, these simple sessions can highlight a baby’s unique newborn details, warm Mom and Dad’s hearts and produce perfect photos to preserve those early memories with their newborn bundle of joy.
Fluffy Baby Basket Photo Prop
Benjamin’s parents chose a gorgeous baby basket as one of their props. The result is stunning. By snuggling Benjamin in a soft, cream-colored baby wrap and adding in a fluffy blanket, these images have the perfect balance of texture, detail — and of course — darling expressions. We simply couldn’t get enough of those perfectly pursed lips. I know these images will bring this beautiful family so much joy for decades to come.
A mini session produces a handful of expertly curated newborn portraits. Even though a mini session is essentially a stripped down, simplified version of a full newborn session, the professional quality of the photography is still exactly the same. 
Soft Baby Cradle for Photos
There are so many ways to get creative with baby photo props and poses. Even a small selection of items can offer excellent variety. Benjamin looks like an angel in a soothing blue baby wrap, nestled in a rustic bowl with a soft, textured blanket for support. This simple set up serves as a wonderfully aesthetic baby cradle.
I love the way that simply incorporating a second color into Benjamin’s session makes his portraits feel varied. Each set brings with it a unique look and feel, while both color palettes complement this little one’s soft baby skin and delicate features perfectly.

Love the mini newborn photo sessions which require only a small time commitment for the parent and are very affordable. The result though are very high quality professional pictures which will be a family treasure. Andrea does an amazing job capturing the beauty of every newborn baby.
