There was joy and love in the air as a brand-new and exciting chapter began for this lovely family of three—Michelle, Matt, and their adorable newborn baby girl, Tina Rose. Their session day was a special time filled with excitement as they arrived at the Andrea Sollenberger Studio for their professional newborn photo shoot, and I couldn’t wait to show them all the fun ideas I had in store to help them create a portrait package they would be thrilled to show off.
SETTING THE SCENE FOR TINA ROSE’S SESSION
After speaking in depth with Michelle and Matt about their session ideas, I got to work and started planning. They shared that, after seeing other options, they wanted to work with me because they loved the fact that the images from my studio weren’t overdone or immature. They were looking for artistic, keepsake portraits they could cherish for years to come.
Michelle’s love of color, especially mixing pinks and greens together, made session prep fun and exciting, and her love of flowers allowed me to dig into the studio’s array of silk flowers, floral wraps, and floral head ties. The great thing about working with newborns and planning newborn sessions is that I’m able to come up with several different looks and “outfit ideas” simply by switching up swaddle colors or styles and changing up accessories like headbands and head wraps. It’s also fun to switch up backdrops and props as a way of creating a completely different scene—all without disturbing baby.
When you choose a professional photographer who specializes in working with newborn babies, you’ll be gratified by their knowledge and professionalism. This was going to be a session fit for a tiny princess!
When parents arrive for a session with their baby, I want them to feel anything but stressed! If you’ve ever been the parent of a newborn, you know things are already stressful. When clients arrive at my studio, I want them to walk into an oasis of calm, warmth, and safety.
When Michelle and Matt arrived with baby Tina Rose, they walked into a studio that was brimming with cleaned and sterilized surfaces; tons of adorable props, wraps, and headbands; and comfortable areas for everyone to rest. Safety and comfort are at the heart of everything I do, and I’ll never compromise on that.
ALL TUCKED IN AND SOUND ASLEEP
In the photo below, sweet Tina Rose is wrapped in a gorgeous floral wrap and tucked snuggly underneath a textured pink cotton blanket as she rests comfortably atop a soft, pink surface. If she weren’t such a star in front of the camera, this little sweetie would be content to rest here all day!
CAPTURING CANDID MOMENTS
As Tina Rose snuggled in her mom’s arms and her daddy grinned happily at the camera, it was easy to see the pure love they felt for their precious little girl. In that shared embrace, we get to see the very essence of parenthood, and we get a glimpse at all the future promises, fun times, and adventures that are on the horizon for this loving family. This is just the beginning, and that’s the joy of professional photography…capturing a moment in time and preserving it as a treasured keepsake forever.
I love the sweet way mom is cradling baby Tina Rose in her arms, so sweetly, yet so securely, while dad reaches across with a strong, supportive hand. What a gorgeous family portrait to display in their home and to share with loved ones.
MOMENTS WITH MOM
Every click of the camera was more than just an image capture; it was a delicate freeze-frame of the profound affection this family has for their new little one. In this lovely portrait, Michelle looks down at her daughter with a serene and peaceful gaze that is filled with all the love in the world for this baby girl who has stolen her heart.
DAD’S PROTECTIVE ARMS
Little Tina Rose has nowhere to be except resting peacefully in her daddy’s protective arms and under his warm, watchful gaze. Sound asleep and swaddled head to toe in pastel pink, this sweet baby girl nestles restfully into the crook of Matt’s arm as he contemplates the little miracle that has become the newest member of the family.
SWEET BUNDLE OF LOVE
Grinning broadly and resting on a soft and furry cream-colored throw, Michelle cradles little Tina Rose next to her cheek in an adorable show of affection. These two may not be gossiping, hitting the mall, or going for mani-pedis just yet, but this mama has a new little bestie in her life, and you can bet their bond is one that will only grow stronger with time.
I love the simple elegance of this portrait. Mom is stunning in a dressy, textured gown, and her skin is glowing against the creamy neutrals we opted to use as a backdrop. Little Tina Rose captures attention with a pop of light pink color, making her and mom, with her dark hair, the center of attention in this glamorous, display-worthy photo.
PRETTY FLOWERS ALL AROUND
Sweet Tina Rose settles into a dreamy slumber, surrounded by a pink- and white-hued flower wreath in this adorable portrait. Lying cozily on a bed of fluffy light pink and wrapped oh-so-snuggly in a pink swaddle, she dreams the dreams of angels. This portrait is a perfect combination of floral elegance combined with a touch of rustic chic with the off-white wide-plank flooring in the background, coming together to create an artistic image that will look beautiful in baby’s nursery or in any room of the house.
As mom and dad look back on their little girl’s newborn portraits in the future, they will be able to recall all the cherished memories that accompanied her very first days and weeks. That sweet baby smell; her smooth, soft skin; her tiny fingers and toes; and her heartwarming coos…they’ll be able to recall every special moment as they gaze at these precious photos and recall those very first, early days with their treasured baby girl.

ADORABLE ACCESSORIES FOR THE LITTLE PRINCESS
It’s never too early to learn that accessories make the outfit…and accessorize we did. From headbands to head wraps to swaddles, tiny Tina Rose was decked out in all the girly accessories, and we didn’t stop there. By surrounding her with a variety of flowers, textured throws and blankets, mini beds, baskets, and more, I was able to give mom and dad a variety of different looks for their little girl, all without disturbing her. And since each session includes 25 different images, variety is definitely key.
Below, their sweet little one is sleeping soundly in a miniature brass baby bed, swaddled in a lacy floral wrap, and wearing a girly pink floral headband. She truly does look like their little princess, just napping the day away in this precious portrait.
THE ELEGANCE OF PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
It’s fun to capture photos in the moment and all the spontaneous laughs and giggles of everyday life, right? How many pictures are on your camera roll on any given day? I’m guessing a LOT. But when it comes to capturing the most important moments, the life-changing moments—like the arrival of a new baby—a professional photographer can really add next-level quality to your keepsakes. When I bring clients in for a session, I pay constant attention to light and shadow, expressions, color, props…everything that makes up the composition of an elegant, treasured portrait. Those are the details we don’t pay attention to when we’re snapping photos with our phones (or even with our personal cameras). I want to capture the perfect image with every portrait, and I do that by paying close attention to all the little details.
The photo below is charming and special because it shows off all of sweet Tina Rose’s tiny fingers and toes as she is slightly unwrapped from her swaddle. She’s showing off a full head of dark hair, and we chose to highlight that with a delicate pearl headband, letting the artistic wrapping draw attention to her lovely, long fingers and her little crossed legs.
BRIGHT-EYED & SO VERY CURIOUS
There’s a delightful twinkle in Tina Rose’s little eyes as she surveys everything that’s going on around her. Dressed all in pink and resting on a soft pink backdrop, she’s happy to lay in her swaddle nest and watch all the hustle and bustle that’s going on around her. As she grows up, mom and dad are sure to look back on these earliest photos and remember her wide-eyed wonder and curiosity, as well as the joy they felt just watching her learn about the world around her.
READY TO EXPLORE
This little one was as calm and tranquil as could be throughout her session. She radiated a quiet peace as I worked, and her sweet personality aligned perfectly with the sophisticated and enchanting elements her parents chose for her session setting. Bathed in soft, flattering light, this beautiful baby girl was the epitome of calm and sweet.
Here, nestled underneath a pastel pink blanket trimmed in tiny white pearls, she has a twinkle in her eye, and her tiny hands look ready to explore the great-big world around her. What an absolutely beautiful baby girl, and what a world of joy and fun ahead for her mommy and daddy!
CREATING CHERISHED MEMORIES…THE IMPORTANCE OF NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
Newborn photography is about more than just a collection of pictures. It’s about creating memories together as a family. When I work with families, I stress the importance of remembering every heartfelt moment of baby’s initial days, and that includes all the little glances, the tiny noises, the sweet smells, and the funny expressions. It includes the soft skin, the baby wrinkles, the smooshy cheeks, and everything adorable that comes to mind when you think of newborns. When families look back on their professional portrait collections, I don’t just want them to see great images…I want them to remember what those first early days felt like…what it felt like to hold and snuggle and make the sweetest promises to their new little one. Looking at your newborn’s portraits should make you feel all of that.
The portrait below is a sweet and innocent take on the traditional birthday-suit photo; it shows off baby’s tiny bum while still keeping its modest and artistic form that allows it to be a great addition to any room, or for any loved one.
It was such an honor to help this young family create lasting memories of their newborn experiences with sweet little Tina Rose. I absolutely loved working with Michelle and Matt to come up with the best, most creative ideas for them, and I’m thrilled to be able to deliver a newborn portrait package they are proud to share and display in their home.

It’s good to hear you loved this floral baby blog! We had fun gathering the colors of flowers that Mom loved best for her little one’s prop set, and contrasting them with the green foliage and baby’s dark hair. Such important moments of the heart are made with heartfelt newborn photos in the early days of their life!
